CFEP Looking for Volunteers to Assist in Free Tax Preparation for Low-to-Moderate Income El Pasoans FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE El Paso, Texas (November 21, 2008): The El Paso Coalition for Family Economic Progress (CFEP) is seeking volunteers to assist in its 2009 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Campaign. The VITA Campaign assists families and individuals with annual incomes of $40,000 or less with free income tax preparation and electronic filing at various tax sites throughout the greater El Paso area. VITA has been instrumental in assisting thousands of El Pasoans gain access to the IRS’ Earned Income (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC) programs. The value of these credits, in conjunction with the Coalition’s traditional free tax preparation and ancillary services, increases the quality of life by assisting these families towards developing long-term assets such as home ownership, education savings, and small business start ups. Good morning, We will be having a Safety Fair on 02/07/09 on behalf of State Farm Insurance. The event will include the Sheriffs dept. who will provide Amber Alert Cards for the children. The EPPD will have the McGruff dog on site and will also hold an Explorer presentation. The Fire Dept. will also be present. We would like to include the information on your calendar.
