Yesterday, we were talking about how people who try to fool themselves by setting their alarm clocks ahead are 8 times more likely to be late to work. I set my alarm clock ahead, but I fool myself into thinking that since I don't watch to see how many minutes I set it ahead, it'll work for me! For the most part, it does. I have been late I think, and Mike will more than likely argue with me about this, about five times in the four years that I've been part of the Morning Show Krew. (The sound you hear is Mike's head exploding as he gears up to tell me how many times HE thinks I've been late!) So what else do I tell myself to fool myself?
I tell myself that since I put my mini-Snickers in the freezer, the calories of the ooey gooey caramel goodness are also frozen!
I tell myself that no one really notices that I haven't painted my toenails in a month!
I tell myself that drinking a Slim Fast in the morning will offset all the calories I plan on eating at lunch with my best friend!
I tell myself that I really don't need to jump on the treadmill because I stood outside for twenty minutes and watered my yard!
So how do you try to fool yourself? I think as long as it's nothing illegal, immoral, or fattening, then it's ok to fool yourself sometimes. Well, maybe just illegal or immoral!
