Hey Gang, Go Fit Camp week 1 of a 6 week fitness camp is in the books, and Rosie my fiancee, and myself, have survived it, with a few sore muscles and some pounds lost. Go Fit Camp is run by Leon Daniels, a former army drill sergeant, motivational speaker, and certified trainer, at 4020 N. Mesa, (call 915-630-1450 to join). Leon is a nice, affable, sweet guy off the court, but he turns into Sergeant Carter during work-outs, and during week 1, Rosie and I felt like Gomer Pyle!! We felt his wrath during the 1 hour sessions 3 times a week. We did upper and lower body weight training, jump rope, kick-boxing, treadmill, cycling, squats, lunges, push-ups, and ab work-outs. Leon also measured our body fat and weight prior to starting this grueling work-out program. He also customized a Meal Planner report for each of us. Mine consisted of a 1600 calorie per day low fat diet, which included breakfast, snack #1, lunch, snack #2, and dinner. Check in with me every monday for the next 6 weeks, because I will be monitoring my progress, and sharing it with our Kiss listeners. My goal is to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks, so I can fit into my wedding tuxedo. For the record, I am 6'2 and I started the Go Fit Camp at 237 pounds. After week 1, I have lost 3 pounds. Not bad, but I can do better. Stay tuned. Tony
